2006 Homage (A Syrah-Petite Sirah blend)
Gold Medal Award – San Francisco Wine Competition
Homage is for the beauty and bounty that our vineyard gives us, for the
pioneers who planted grapes in our special valley over 150 years ago, and
for our parents, who unconditionally loved, never doubted and always
encouraged. The 2006 Homage is a marriage of our estate grown Syrah and
Petite Sirah. Homage features a deep dark red and purplish hue that extends
to the edge of the glass. Lovely aromas of ripe plums and blackberries
integrate with pepper and subtle oak notes, and firm, tight tannins create a
focused framework which showcases spice, cola and tobacco accents. A long,
lingering finish of berry notes and subtle oak nuances follows. $35
